i did a very quick and sloppy set of doodles, it’s probably really clear i didn’t use references by how messy and uncertain everything is lol
and i’m not great at landscapes so the dude’s legs and chest do look a little strange 😭✌ quick way to end off the night since ive been slacking a bit:))

i was also trying and struggling to draw landscapes. i genuinely think landscapes are my weakest points in art next to 3d shapes and texture, i haven’t done an actual study in a while so i think i do probably need to sit myself down sometime and go in depth into it
i really wasn’t happy with this and im still not, im just trying to remind myself that art take progress and nobody’s ever perfect in the beginning
it was just a little crazy to me that i was struggling with something so small as landscapes when its just zooming out of details and thinking in a big picture after doing art for so long. then i remember that there’s different fields of art and that’s why some people who mainly draw animals can’t draw people that well and vice versa, while we’re training our brains in other fields we’re more accustomed to it because of practice, but in different areas it gets tougher because you’re starting from scratch -
also i didn’t draw those birds those are from a preset brush i think maybe why it looks off to me too is because i was experimenting with a whole bunch of brushes when my style is a more hatch-style pure linework type thing

also i’ve been trying to draw more faces, faces are also one of my biggest weaknesses so i need to practice a lot more before i can find a good style i can be comfortable in😭💔✌

you know this is insane to look back on, just 3 years ago i was drawing these horrible circle dudes and i thought i was de vinci for it
i don’t think i’m great now because i still have a lot to work on and i know i haven’t reached my maximum and never will, but wow the progress that can be made in as little as 3 months to 3 years is just incredible to me -
bro my old art was so weird what😭😭 why was half of it just crying💔
and for whatever reason in one of my old artworks on page 1 or something i had a really long tongue for one of them because i thought it looked cool for whatever reason but it just looks so weird??😭😭😭 bro looks like he’s going to eat me -

one thing i noticed i really need to improve on is texture, so im going to study texture a little more because i know its something i don’t quite understand yet

AHHHHH DUDE i’m SO HAPPY with how this is coming out so far 😭😭 this started as a landscape study and then i wanted to add my guy and his pet chicken, and it’s been 2 hours of struggling to render and im still going on lol

i love that chicken so much i can’t even emphasize how much i love him jajajwueywkjwhwhj
this was based off my minecraft world and some lore i had going for my guys, i really really love flowers and birch forests so i was going to have them leaning against a birch tree with flowers in the field. the thing about my guy is he’s dead, and he doesn’t know, so his entire thing is coming to peace with that fact after he finds out and one of the biggest metaphors is with flowers, mainly just dandelions and poppies:))
my chicken guy is named noble, this dude has a brown dog named barnes too and originally i just named them it because it sounded funny for two pets to be named after a bookstore but it just grew on me😭 barnes and noble
i have a lot of attachment to these guys💔 i love how mellow it looks here, i thought i really captured the mood well and im super excited to continue it more tomorrow
it’s not an awful lot but i started adding a couple dandelions, poppies, my watermark, and also blended noble into the environment a little better:))
