What makes this show so hated? What makes this show not cared about? What makes this show different from absurd and whimsical TV shows for kids?
- Matt Olsson's "The Verse" is primarily hated due to the characters' exaggerated antics and exaggerated personality traits; such as Andrew Zhu's unnecessarily frequent nihilistic comments and inaccurate overstatements; as well as his stupid monologues.
- This show is also hated because of Mel Grimson (he/him/his)'s exaggeratedly stupid and maniacal laughter; and given that he laughs maniacally on purpose; primarily to enrage the others and the audience itself, it makes him one of the most; if not the most exaggeratedly unlikable characters in "The Verse" (2024).
- This show is also hated because of Lloyd Chan's everyday enraged behavior, exaggeratedly delusional nature, him always believing that he's a great leader or the greatest leader of all time; even though he clearly isn't. Lloyd Chan is a terrible leader.
- Anna Yu, who is Lloyd Chan's boyfriend; is overly saccharine, sweet, romantic, bubbly, and cheery; always having an undying love for Lloyd Chan.
- This show is not cared about primarily due to the fact that it is unwatchable. The audio quality is loud and the show overall is intentionally made to be as terribly unprofessional as possible; an insult to animation, professional creativity in the arts, and traditional cartoon-animated TV shows.

- The way this show is crafted is: Simply drawn characters, poor/unprofessional/simple animation (the mouths don't even move when characters talk; sometimes, you can't even tell who's talking when two or more characters are in the setting).
- It's probably worse than "The Nutshack" as "The Verse" is intentionally made to have no jokes, no comedy, no clever humor; and "The Verse" insults all of this through several of the characters always yelling and swearing at each other.
- Andrew Zhu's existential nihilism and his comments are so unnecessary and also they are often inaccurate; making him not a reliable source for information or advice. Ever.
- The show's three antagonists (Mel Grimson (he/him/his), Andrew Zhu, and Elegans) are almost always; if not all the time; profane, offensive, and therefore; not for kids.
- Elegans; the literal male brown Protobothrops Elegans who can talk and play the trumpet is an insult to anthropomorphic animal characters in media.

- Elegans is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside his best friend, Andrew Zhu). Elegans is Andrew Zhu's best friend (currently). They frequently hang out together. Ironically, Elegans hates Andrew's overstatements and inaccurate claims.
- He is a literal male brown Protobothrops Elegans who can talk and play the trumpet; a literal lead trumpeter who plays the trumpet to entertain.
- An easily enraged, sometimes loud, profane, impatient, hateful literal male brow Protobothrops Elegans.
- He literally hates discrimination and hates when people insult him.
- Elegans literally and genuinely has no idea how to play any other musical instrument except for the trumpet; let alone simpler instruments than the trumpet.

- Andrew Zhu is one of the secondary antagonists in "The Verse" (alongside his best friend Elegans) is an existential nihilist who hates adulthood, hates life, hates animals, hates people, hates conflicts, hates awkward moments, and often is reminded by his best friend Elegans (a literal snake) that Andrew's claims are often inaccurate; therefore; not a trusted source for advice or reliability.
- Andrew Zhu's life (as an adult; ever since he started being an adult), to him; is so stupid! He hates it. Ironically, he hates conflicts and awkward moments and genuinely doesn't want to raise his voice; as he believes it will make him "look weak" in front of people or whoever he's having conflicts with.
- In summary, Andrew is a unique villain; who plays a significant role in the cringe show as a human being best friends with a snake and an existential nihilist who hates his existence, while simultaneously trying to avoid conflict; as Andrew knows that he can't prevent conflicts from getting worse.

- So, Lloyd Chan is basically the main protagonist; but he is intentionally made to be a blatant and massive insult to traditional main protagonists, especially in cartoon-animated TV shows.
- Lloyd Chan and Anna Yu are a couple, but Lloyd does not treat Anna well at all.
- Lloyd believes that he is a good leader or the greatest leader of all time; and not only that, he believes that good leaders always yell and swear to make a point.
