"The Verse" is a 2024 cartoon-animated cringe comedy TV show created by Matt Olsson. Unlike many other cartoon-animated TV shows meant to either entertain or educate (or both), this show is genuinely, obviously, and intentionally made to be as enraging, cringe, annoying, unfunny, unlikable, predictable, and repetitive as possible. In terms of the animation, "The Verse" clearly has unprofessional animation. That's because it was intentionally meant to be this way.

Currently, Matt Olsson is actively trying to make this show an extremely massive insult to fiction, literature, absurd and whimsical TV shows for kids, stories, real-life scenarios, relatability, clever/funny/witty humor, heartwarming/endearing/emotional moments, drawing, creativity, silliness, playfulness, unique creations, realistic elements, and literally every other cartoon-animated TV show in the universe. In summary, he clearly succeeds in doing this.

- While it is a cringe comedy, almost nothing (if not nothing at all) about this show is comedic; just in terms of humor; there is absolutely NO funny, witty, or clever humor in this show. Whatsoever.
Lloyd Chan (also known as Bro, Lloyd, or Lloyd Yuan Chan) (born October 31, 2006; 18-19 years old) is:
- The exaggeratedly unlikable main protagonist; clearly intentionally made to be an insult to traditional main protagonists in cartoon-animated TV shows.
- An exaggeratedly easily enraged and profane young man; who is also a terrible leader; despite frequently (if not always) claiming or believing that he is a good leader or "the greatest leader of all time".
- The one who has to deal with all his friends (excluding Anna Yu)' moronic antics.
- Anna Yu's boyfriend (Anna really wanted to have a romantic relationship with Lloyd, so he reluctantly went along with it, to get her to shut up).
- 5'8", 124.7". All of the above.
In Lloyd Chan's absurd past, what happened?
- Lloyd Chan graduated high school. But didn't go do any further education because he simply says, "he hates it more than life".
- On October 31, 2024 (his 18th birthday), his family members won the lottery ($110M, to be precise). His family members quickly gave Lloyd Chan a mere $14M and permanently kicked him out, removed, and banned him from the house.
- After being kicked out, Lloyd Chan was clearly not surprised that his family would do this, and used $1-2M to buy a house and name it "The Bros' Kitchen".
- Lloyd Chan started to recruit Andrew, Mel, Elegans, and even his own girlfriend, Anna; as "members" of his own. All of the above.
Elegans is literally a:
- A male talking zebra.
- A male talking dog.
- A male talking lizard.
- A literal male brown Protobothrops Elegans who can talk and play the trumpet; one that ages exactly like a human (after he was born/hatched on October 19, 2006).
Elegans's past: How did Elegans become a very famous and successful lead trumpeter?
- When Elegans was a baby male Protobothrops Elegans, he was still in the Ryukyu Islands at that time, with his normal Protobothrops Elegans parents. This is before he gained permanent abilities.
- Elegans slithered on a nearby tree, eventually ending up on a small and fragile branch. From there, he notices two scientists carrying a giant, metallic pool with green, boiling, toxic waste and put it underneath the same tree Elegans slithered on.
- The branch broke, for it was fragile. Elegans fell straight into the pool.
- Elegans literally gained permanent abilities: Able to talk, immense skill in playing the trumpet, human-level intelligence, supernatural durability, immune to certain skin issues snakes can get, fast slithering speed, but funnily enough; Elegans genuinely has absolutely no idea how to play other musical instruments, even the simpler ones (just the trumpet). All of the above.
Mel Grimson (also known as Man, Mel, or Mel Henry Grimson) (born February 5, 2006; 19 years old) is genuinely an:
- Exaggerated waste of everyone's time, everything's time, and even a waste of his own time.
- Exaggeratedly extreme Cool Ranch-flavored Doritos chips addict.
- Exaggeratedly annoying, exaggeratedly cringe, exaggeratedly doltish, exaggeratedly easily enraged, exaggeratedly loud, exaggeratedly profane, exaggeratedly unrepentant dolt.
- The most exaggeratedly unlikable character in "The Verse" (2024).
- Exceedingly skinny 5'11.7", 117.9 lbs guy. All of the above.
Andrew Zhu (also known as Andy, Andrew, or Andrew William Zhu) (born September 21, 2006; 18-19 years old) is a:
- Very unsuccessful moron who doesn't know how to do anything.
- Very talkative, nihilistic, self-hating, self-condemning, rude existential nihilist who tends to make exaggerated/inaccurate/wrong claims.
- The guy who is best friends with Elegans.
- The guy who seems to have a lot of bad habits that he hasn't even broken yet.
- 5'10", 131.6 lbs, guy who needs to go to jail/prison/suffer eternal damnation. The guy that was never meant to exist/never supposed to exist. All of the above.
Anna Yu (also known as Anna or Anna Catherine Yu) (born July 31, 2006; 18-19 years old)'s most defining personality traits are:
- Perpetually romantic.
- Perpetually sweet.
- Perpetually bubbly.
- She has a genuine, perpetual, and undying love for Lloyd Chan, despite him treating her like crap often.
