  Well hey, I'll confess that I used to like the show until I changed a bit as a person and realized about CN ruining the original and all that.

  you need to look at them as two entirely separate shows because that's what they are
  TTG didn't "ruin" anything. the "original" is still intact, by itself, entirely separate.
