Nosoka sighed. “If you two need a place to stay you can stay with me, okay?” They reminded her so much of herself. “Now, about that job…we’re going to mess with that guy who stormed off. What I want you two to do, is go to this address later tonight, and knock on the door. Start saying some creepy things in unison or sing something weird. I will be hiding in the bushes just in case, but that guy has daughters. He would never hurt anyone, never mind other children, in front of them. Got it?”
-
"oh, very well! Request accepted!" Bonny said, smiling. Her curly red hair bounced as she nodded her head. "I have a song to sing. I learned it in a mouventier grove." Victoria said, subtly suggesting the song idea.
-
“Whatever you two wish~.” Nosoka smiled.
And later that night, Thoralas was cooking three different variations of curry for the girls, Estaban, and himself, since the spiciness level had to be adjusted for some members of the family. He had finally set everything at the table.
“Dad Thora, this is the wrong one!” Lislotte cried. “It’s too hot!”
Novalee chuckled quietly to herself while Thoralas sighed and got up to grab Lislotte the right bowl. “Esta, can you grab Lislotte some milk?” None of them knew of the surprise waiting. -
"and that's why we should have put some out already~" esta said, giggling. "Ah! You switch with me lislotte! I like the spicy one!" Samti chimed in, raising her hand up high, as if she were asking a question. Gardenia watched, eating the curry as fast as she could. The dolls had just arrived on the front lawn. Bonny was far earlier than Victoria
-
“Then maybe you should’ve gotten off of your fat butt and got some while I was making dinner for the family, Esta~.” Thoralas chided jokingly like an angry housewife, contrary to his reputation to everyone outside of the house.
“Okay, here Samti!” Lislotte switched with Samti.
Novalee gave some of her curry to Gardenia while the two parents weren’t looking, something she commonly did, as she got full easily.
Then, the door rang.
“Who the Therindas is coming over at this hour? Esta, did you invite Gertrin without telling me again?” He grumbled as he walked over to the door to open it. -
"I didn't invite anyone, I promise~" estaban said, focusing in on the door. He figured the most likely nuisance would be wirt coming over to bug them. When the door opened the two girls tried to sing in unison as they held hands.
are you going to the witch mother's fair?
Parsley sage rosemary and thyme
Remember me the one who lives there
For she cursed the true love of mine
They sang in a breathy tone, Bonny's higher pitched voice trailing ever so slightly behind. -
Thora’s face was priceless, he shut the door after the first note, yelling in Desmodan. He tried to mask his startled state as anger, but his tone made it fairly obvious.
(Desmodan translation)
What the f---?! Evil little s---s gave me a f---ing heart attack! How do they even know where we live? Damn witches! -
Estaban tried his hardest not to laugh, figuring thoralas wouldn't appreciate it. "Well, that was unexpected. "The witch mother's fair?" Samti questioned. Gardenia hardly looked up from her food, still eating as fast as she could.
Outside of the door Victoria laughed. "We got him." She held up her hand for a high five which Bonny just stared at for a minute before giving her a handshake -
Nosoka, on the other hand, was cackling and recording, sending it to her friend Hyserina immediately. “Ahahahaha, that was hilarious~ I- Ahahahaha~! Alright you two, let’s head on home…you said you have no place to stay, right? You can stay with me.”
Lislotte couldn’t control her laughter, and Novalee barely held it together. “Dad Thora was scared!” Lislotte shrieked between squeals.
“I was not scared Lislotte! And don’t think I didn’t see you laughing too, Novalee.” Thoralas stormed out of the room for a moment, slamming the door. It seems he lost his appetite. -
"I have a home. It is a gift from Mr reaper." Bonny said, blinking her eyes with a distinct crunchy noise. "I don't. I appreciate the offer." Victoria said, contrasting the orange haired doll.
"My my, he's soooo bothered~" estaban said, finding his boyfriend storming out to be at least a little funny. Gardenia finally finished her plate and looked up to see the commotion "I don't think it's that big of a deal." She said. -
“Is it safe?” Nosoka asked before suddenly feeling a hockey puck being lodged at her head. “Ow!” She chuckled. “I think he heard me laughing, let’s leave, quick!” She scooped the two girls in her arms and ran as more random balls from various sports were hurled through a window.
Thoralas had in fact, heard the cackle, and decided to go into his closet where his old sports equipment was from when his father forced him to do sports, opened the window, and hurled balls and such at the woman. He made sure not to hit the children. “And stay away!” He yelled. -
Bonny was very confused upon being picked up, Victoria not so much, resigning herself to being carried like a real doll.
Gardenia eyed her new dad's forgotten plate. She knew it would be wrong to ask for leftovers in someone else's house, but she was still hungry, and they couldn't just waste food... -
“Ah, sorry for picking you up, but Thoralas is very strong, and if we weren’t quick, he’d probably go through that window and come out here himself. He’s done crazier. Not to hurt you two, but me, and you shouldn’t have to witness that…Let’s go home, come come~” Nosoka explained as she let them down gently.
Once they were gone, Thoralas returned and slumped in his chair. He saw the look on Gardenia’s face. “Here…” Thoralas gave her his curry. -
"i don't mind. That was easy." Victoria said. Bonny looked around. This was an unfamiliar part of therindas.
When thoralas returned gardenia snapped her eyes away from the plate. "Are you sure? This is your food?" Gardenia said. She didn't want to seem like a beggar. -
Nosoka’s apartment was surprisingly neat. There was lots of fun and quirky knick knacks, her card collection, and a table in the far right with a photo on it. The photo was of a child with porcelain pale skin, beautiful long dark blue hair, and pastel purple eyes. She was sitting in what looked like a church, with a doll in her hands. “Ah, make sure you take your shoes off before we enter, Penelope hates mess…” Nosoka had already taken off her shoes.
“Gardenia, you’re my daughter, of course I’m sure. You can have any of my food.” Thoralas explained.
