Albert followed Sebastian.
"What are you doing?" Sebastian asked the second they closed the door. -
Vincent stayed in the main room. He sat down in his chair.

"Nothing."
"Why'd you lie for me?" -
'For Vincent. Not for you.'

"But why?"

'So he'd start eating something other than mac and cheese. Even if it's out of guilt.'

Sebastian paused before giving a nod. "Not a bad plan, actually." He offered Albert a hi-five.

Albert didn't hi-five him. 'When are you planning on taking his invention and running?'

"I don't have a date planned. Just whenever it's about up-and-running." Sebastian paused. "So this week."

'You're going to steal Barbara, the machine his happiness on, for a paycheck?'

(he's bet his happiness*)

"That paycheck's my ticket out of this town, so yes."

'And then what?'

Sebastian shrugged. "I get a job as a real inventor. No more apprenticeships or internships."
