Caleb booped his nose.

The next morning, Caleb and Richard’s father had awkwardly signed the treaty together early. Caleb sat in his office afterwards, trying not to think about how Richard would have to leave that afternoon. -
Richard had already packed that night. That way he could spend as much time with Caleb as possible.

Caleb scribbled on a few papers. He didn’t know how he’d handle being away from Richard. Richard was the only thing he liked about this dull castle, and now he was leaving.

Richard was still in his room even though he was done packing. He was leaving Caleb, possibly forever if his dad had anything to say about it. He was going to be a king soon. Everything was going much too fast.

Caleb put his hair up in a messy ponytail and got up. He left his office and walked down the hall, up a couple stairs, then knocked on Richard’s door.

Richard looked up. “Come in.”

Caleb opened the door and walked inside. ‘Hi,’ he said quietly.
