Caleb held him close, resting his chin on his shoulder. ‘Why does your father not like me?’ he asked.

"I... I don't know." Richard admit quietly.

‘Because of the gay thing? He never seemed too fond of me before he found out, though.’

"Every time I ask, he just says it's because 'we're allies, not friends' or whatever."

‘Oh. So he’s like that with everyone, then?’

"I guess." Richard shrugged.

‘Okay,’ Caleb kissed his cheek.

Richard blushed, leaning into him.
