“No, fifteen minute walk, about,” His dad said, shrugging.

"Mm, yeah, that's not far," Connor said, nodding as he headed to the front door.

“Yeah,” evan nodded. “Let’s go?”

"Yeah~" Connor said with a smile, opening the door. He gently took Evan's hand in his own, heading down the steps of the front porch.

Evan flushed red, twining their fingers as he followed Connor. “So, uh- wait, how old are you?”

"I'm 18," Connor replied, looking over at Evan. "How- How old are you?"

“Oh- okay, good I’m a junior, I’m almost 17,” Evan said with a nod, turning his head towards Connor.

“You’re- s---, I thought you were the same age as me,” Connor said, chuckling softly.

“It’s not that weird, though-“ Evan said softly. “It’s only like, a year gap-“

“Well, yeah, but isn’t it technically illegal?” Connor asked, furrowing his brows a little. “Well, I guess it’s really only illegal if we f----“

“Shut the f--- up!” Evan said, slightly embarrassed as he tore his hand away and hit Connor’s arm. “Don’t say that-“ he whined, ducking his head.

“I wasn’t suggesting it, I was just saying!” Connor said, laughing softly. “I promise, I’m not the kind of guy have sex with a guy after the first date,” he teased, chuckling softly.

“Good,” Evan muttered, holding his hand out again.

Connor smiled and took Evan’s hand, gently rubbing his thumb against his skin. He started walking, heading towards the animal rescue center.

“So- uh, what’s your favorite animal?” Evan asked softly.
