George giggled quietly, looking back to Clay before taking a bite of his food. “It’s good- it could use a bit of pepper, though-“

“Pfft- You and your fancy taste buds~” Clay joked, chuckling softly.

“Shut up- I’m holding back right now,” George said with an embarrassed chuckle.

“Wow, damn, you don’t like Veronica’s food??” Clay said, laughing softly. “Don’t let her hear you, she’s pretty defensive when it comes to her cooking-“

“No! No, it’s good, I’m just particular,” George said with a chuckle, shaking his head.

“I’m teasing- And honestly, that’s fair,” Clay said, chuckling softly

“Yeah, when you’ve been able to make your meals to exactly your liking for the past five years, it’s hard to go back-“ George said with a chuckle, taking another bite of his food.

“Yeah, I can imagine,” Clay said, chuckling softly as he took another bite of his food.

“But Veronica’s food is good! It really is,” George said with a small smile, nodding.

“That’s good to hear,” Clay said, smiling. “Veronica usually doesn’t cook at the restaurant, but she insisted on making something for us, which was really sweet~”

“Aw, this is super nice,” George said with a smile. “Does she have any other restaurants?”

“No, just this one right now, but she’s hoping to open up another location,” Clay replied, nodding.

“Oo, that’s cool,” George said with a smile. “Owning a restaurant is hard, I couldn’t even imagine trying to open a second one,” he said with a. chuckle, taking another bite of his pasta.

“It definitely seems like it,” Clay replied, chuckling softly ashe took another bite of his food.

“Yeah,” George nodded, chuckling quietly. “I own a small-ish restaurant in my hometown- I mean, obviously I don’t cook there anymore, it’s too far away and I’m too busy, but I have a lot of management and stuff.”
