‘Hey, don’t be,’ Chester murmured, wrapping his arms around Jayden.

Jayden stiffened for just a moment before shaking his head. "No, I'm a jerk." He mumbled.

Chester eyes were still red from crying. He looked a mess, but as he pulled Jayden slightly closer, he said in a calming voice, ‘I would’ve done the same. You are not a jerk.’

Jayden looked up at Chester. "I don't believe you." He said quietly, noticing how red his eyes were.

Chester kissed the top of his head. ‘You better.’

Jayden didn't pull away. He wanted to argue that he was the jerk, since he made Chester feel so bad, but he kept his mouth shut.

Neo by now had left. He waited outside in case anything happened.
Chester held him close. ‘Are you OK?’ -
"I'm fine." Jayden lied. "You ok?"

‘I don’t believe you,’ Chester said. ‘Is this OK?’ He gestured with his head at his arms, which were around Jayden. ‘Do you want me to let go?’

"I-it's fine." Jayden answered. "Why won't you believe me?"

‘Your boyfriend - who loves you very much - killed his parents at 16. I don’t believe you’re fine.’

"I will be. Eventually." Jayden answered quietly, praying that'd be true at some point.

‘You will,’ Chester said. ‘I promise you will. So you’re not right now?’

Jayd knew he'd worry his boyfriend if he told the truth, but he nodded anyways.

Chester nodded. ‘That’s OK. I love you, alright?’ he pulled him closer into a hug. ‘I’ll never let you cry alone again,’ he whispered.
