Eli nodded. "All good." They mumbled.

Callum lay back down, rolled on his side so he could face Eli.

Eli sat up slowly, staring at the wooden floor.

'Are you sure you're OK?' Callum asked, concerned.

Eli nodded. "Yeah just..... Panicking." They admit quietly, hoping Callum wouldn't hear.

'Why?' Callum asked. He moved off her couch and sat next to Eli.

"My mom's probably scared out of her mind. I mean, I've been gone for who knows how long and haven't even answered her texts because I can't!" They rambled.

Callum put his arm around Eli's shoulders. 'We'll be out soon,' he said, trying to comfort them. 'We can explain everything to her.'

Eli nodded, feeling better after telling Callum. "Thanks." They said with a small smile.

Callum smiled. 'Hopefully she won't flip out after we tell her about the talking cats.'

Eli chuckled. "Maybe we'll just tell her part of the truth.... Like maybe we got lost somewhere or something?"

'It's not technically lying,' Callum shrugged.

"Exactly!" Eli said with a full smile.

Callum chuckled. 'Alright, then.'
