'I missed you too,' Nat admitted.

Nikolai smiled, not saying anything else.

'It was horrible without you,' Nat said softly. -
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad." Nikolai said quietly, his smile slightly smaller.

'It was.'

"I'm sorry." Nik said quietly. "What was so bad about it?"

'I guess I just felt... lonely.'

"Makes sense." Nikolai said, kissing her on the top of the head. "But you got me now, ok?"

Natsuki gave a small smile. 'Thank you.'

"You're welcome." Nik said, though he wasn't sure what he was being praised for.

Natsuki leaned into Nik again.

Nikolai wrapped his arm around her.

Natsuki closed her eyes, thinking back to Xiao and Ming.

Nik played with her hair with his free hand.
