Victor nudged her gently as if to indignantly declare, I am much better than the pillow! He snuggled with her, finding a good spot under the covers on Colette's stomach. He laid there for a few minutes, relishing the warmth provided.
Colette bit her lip and started worrying. What if her parents found out there was an animal in the house? She would be grounded for life!
She started cuddling Victor in her arms and rocked back and forth, wondering what she should do.
Waves of pleasure registered. Victor nuzzled Colette. Even without understanding what she was thinking or saying, she radiated anxiety, and Victor felt it was his job to comfort her.
Colette gave the bunny a weak smile and pet him. “I wonder what your name is.” She wondered aloud. “Oh well, if you do have a name, I shan’t change it.” She said.
Victor enjoyed being petted between his twin ears immensely, but that was not important. The million-dollar question seemed to be split into two parts, a) being would he make it to Heaven, and b) how so?
Colette caught a glimpse of something on the rabbits back. She peered at it and started touching it. “What is this mysterious thing?” She asked, holding her breath in.
