Elytra smiled at the two, about to explode from cuteness.

Vitalus grinned at Elytra

Elytra pet his head in about the same manner she would ruffle his hair, if he had any.

Vitalus trilled at her

"You're a good boy, Vitalus," Elytra said happily. "I'm so proud of you."
Tetra nudged her stump, wanting praise too.
"You too, Tetra," Elytra said with a laugh. -
Vitalus giggled happily

Tetra ducked her head underneath the two and lifted them onto her back, trotting merrily.

Vitalus clung to her

Tetra plowed through the other creatures and made a clear path to the palace. Elytra laughed. The wind blowing back her hair was a feeling that she had missed.

Vitalus fluttered his wings as he looked around at all the creatures

"There's a lot of them," Elytra said, looking where Vitalus was looking. "I've never seen so many."

Vitalus nodded slowly in agreement

"They can't all be experiments, can they?" Elytra said. "Some of them must have been born."

Vitalus nodded again

"How did I not know about this?" Elytra murmured.
