Grotto went down in surprise, making the earthquake slow down by a lot since he lost his focus. While Apophis deals with Grotto, Chiro jumps down from the building to stop the rock creatures.
Since when did Apophis care about.. hmm, well Chiro supposed that everything he'd heard about Apophis couldn't have been all that accurate. How would a cold and heartless murderer possibly desire to save children? It didn't make sense.
As Chiro slashed at the rock creatures, making them revert back to sand as he hacked at them one by one, he couldn't help but think that Apophis was definitely not as bad as people thought. A good guy, even.
Apopsis ripped off the collar that Grotto had been wearing and used his tentacles in an attempt to bind him.
An ability like Grottos could be useful...but Apopa is didn’t want to kill another’s person.
Not again. He couldn’t. Not without reason.
“ look grotto, you could have seriously harmed some innocent kids. This isn’t like you.” He says calmly.
The rock creatures stop moving altogether as Grotto's collar gets ripped off. "Right then," Chiro mutters, quickly going back to the scene with Apophis. Good or not, he was a questionable person. Chiro couldn't be sure why the media called him a villain when he was very obviously a vigilante.
"I don't care about kids," Grotto says, laughing even though without his collar he was at a disadvantage. "I'd kill a whole bus of kids of that's what it takes to bring this city down," he continues, just as Chiro arrives. "Apophis! C'mon, we can just take Grotto to the cops and they'll take care of him. Let's end this battle, no need to cause more bloodshed."
"But you'd kill if children weren't watching?" Chiro asks Apophis as he walks away from Grotto. "Whether children see you or not, you shouldn't let your legacy be based on the fact that you kill people. Not exactly something parents want to tell as bedtime stories," Chiro says, staring at Apophis's back as he begins to leave the scene.
When the heroes and police show up, Chiro shrugs. "You guys are a little late," he says to his colleagues, pointing to Grotto, who was down for the count.
Blur laughs. "We were busy fighting those rock monsters.. but of course you went after Grotto and took him out. I'd expect nothing less of such a top hero!" Blur says appraisingly. "Actually, that wasn't me..!" Chiro explains.
Chiro couldn't reply to Apophis in time before he left. The superheroes and police crowded around Chiro, asking for his story, asking for details. They didn't even seem to care about the vigilante, which frustrated Chiro to a major extent.
"I didn't do anything, I was fighting the rock monsters just like everyone else," Chiro tries to say, but everyone was talking over each other. He opts to flee the scene, it was getting way too overcrowded for his liking.
Around ten minutes later, Youta was back in his store.
Youta has essentially opened up a nightclub but for books. There was food to be served, drinks to be had. It was a 24/7 library.
The man smiled as he noticed a little girl doodling a picture of a giant snake eating the sun. It looked cute,
Chiro, now as Asher, had finally gotten away from the chaos. He stops by his place to change into more comfortable clothes. As he's doing so, he looks at the news to see that they were trying to cover up Apophis's presence entirely.
"Stupid news stations!" Asher yells, throwing a random bagel at the screen. He googles 'bookstores near me' so he can go somewhere to calm down.
Youta sighs as he sees the news covering up the involvement of Apophis. Fortunately one of he bystanders had been filming the event and it was posted all over tumblr.
Though, that in itself was a curse since Youta was done seeing p--- of himself.
Youta sighed as he flipped the sign from Sunlight cafe to ‘the witching hour’ his staff were already changing the softer decor to more a more ‘witchy aesthetic’.
Asher revs up his car and begins his drive towards the witching hour. It caught his eye because while searching for bookstores, the name literally changed from sunlight cafe to the witching hour on the website.
He liked the idea of getting food and reading, it seemed like the perfect compromise for his evening. Plus he wouldn't have to cook later!
As he drives, Asher's radio begins to play Eye of the Tiger. He sings along, but unfortunately, he reaches his destination midsong. He cuts it off, but continues to sing as he walks into the store, dancing like a madman. He was in a much better mood now, regardless of the strange looks he recieved.
Youta couldn’t help the amused laugh coming from his lips as he walked over to the man. “ you okay there?”he asked gently as he looked at him.
“Table for one?” He asked. Normally he wouldn’t be doing this, but this guy was cute and Youta was gay and the hottest man he’d been close to recently had been chiro when he had lifted him up today.
Youta blushed just thinking about it, unaware how it made him look.
"And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night-" Asher pauses as the cutest guy ever approaches him. "I'm fine," Asher says with a goofy grin. "Yeah, a table for one," Asher agrees as he plays with his long hair. He'd never really thought about dating before.
When the mysterious waiter blushes, it makes Asher blush in turn, wondering what crossed his mind and whether he could ask for his number before the night was over.
The shorter male gracefully grabbed a menu from the hostess stand, and led him to a plush seat hidden in a corner, with a beautifully shaped lamp of the jersey devil holding the sun, with mothman sitting ontop of it on the table.
Youta gestured for the attractive man to sit.
“...m-my name is Y-Youta and I’ll be your server for tonight.”he stuttered shyly...cursing his rotten luck. And his social anxiety.
Asher thanked the waiter for the menu as he sat down in his seat. The waiter was obviously flustered, and Asher couldn't help but wonder if he personally had something to do with it. Asher then decided to crank out the flirting, even though he didn't have much experience.
"I'm Asher, but since you're so cute you can call me anything you want," Asher says smoothly. He looks at the menu, trying to decide what to order. "What would you recommend? Any specials?"
