"Thanks." Danny said awkwardly. Maria smiled slightly at Cloud as the others started walking, she waited for Cloud to catch up to her.

Cloud started walking. He smiled at the salty smell and his eyes sparkled

Maria walked quietly beside him, she paused where the sand begun and looked down at it.

Cloud kicked the sand and grined

Maria looked at her feet, they were just at the edge of the sand. she shifted uncomfortably.

Cloud grabbed her hand "come on!"

Maria looked shocked and stumbled on to the sand.

Cloud laughed childishly "come on, its just sand"

"I-i guess.. If you look at it that way." She mumbled.

Cloud looked at her "whats wrong?"

Maria tilted her head. "Nothing." she smiled slightly

Cloud frowned "your lieing. Why didnt you want to get on the sand?"

Maria's eyes were empty for a moment, "It's a childish thing." she said simply.

Cloud crossed his arms as his eyes changed to a ancient looking gray "oh realy?"

"Really." She mumbled, she tugged her hand way and started walking towards Kayla. Her eyes stung as she felt a tear drip down her face, she whipped it off quickly with her hand.
