Francis was in no rush to get home at the time. He was strolling along on his way to his one-bedroom apartment, on his way from work, when he saw it. He must never have noticed it before, having always been rushing around, but down an alleyway was a doorway, and a sign that read 'Personal Neko: Perfect for a HUG!'. Francis read the sign, and his stomach churned. There was a bad innuendo in the phrase, and he could just sense that whatever neko it spoke of was in danger of something worse.
Despite only carrying his debit card with him, Francis went down the alleyway and into the shop. His face flushed as soon as he walked in; an entirely nude neko was sitting on a plush bed in the back of the store. Francis went straight to the desk, slapping down his debit card. "How much is he?" -
The man sitting there looked startled at Francis's sudden entrance, and he was even more startled when the card was slapped onto his desk. But a smile crept onto his face. "Oh, he's fifty grand. Are you sure you want to pay that much?" He was sizing the other up, as if making fun of him for his normal appearance.
Alec, on the other hand, looked terrified as soon as he saw the strange newcomer walk in. He didn't like the sound of it, and he was scared that the guy might be mean. But he didn't look mean.. The neko crawled to the edge of the bed on all fours, his tail flicking. The man snapped at him, telling him to back up a bit. He quickly did so. -
Francis gave the most stern face he could. It didn't fit him well, but neither did paying that much for saving a neko. "I don't think so, don't try to fool me. Bring it down," he demanded, for the sake of not having the poor creature raped by some gross man.
-
"..Ten thousand. No more, no less. And that's a very generous offer. I can tell that you're not familiar with this kind of crap, kid." He leaned back, narrowing his eyes. "Cut it out with the face, would you?"
-
Francis' face fell, and he groaned in annoyance. "... Fine, just charge it," he sighed.
-
The man cheerfully took the amount he was allowed, handing the debt card back to him. He's all yours." He didn't care about the stupid cat.
Alec stared at his new owner with wide eyes. His tail swished back and forth. He didn't feel like speaking, and he wasn't really sure how to react to this new person, so he just sat there on the bed. After a moment, he held out his arms, saying, "Wanna hug?" -
Francis looked at the cat, blinking. He'd almost forgotten that it was probably brain washed to crave hugging. "Uhm... Here, wait a second.." Quickly, Francis unbuttoned his suit coat, holding it out for the neko to put on. It would be uncomfortable to walk another block with an entirely naked cat.
-
He frowned at the coat, slowly taken it. Is this a new way to hug..? He put the coat on, snuggling into it. It was warm, and it made him feel happy inside. The neko hadn't buttoned it, though, and just sat there staring expectantly at his owner.
-
Francis sighed, seeing that the neko had neglected to button the jacket. Oh well. "Alright, I guess that works..." Knowing the other would want that hug, he held his arms out wide to offer it.
-
Alec's eyes brightened as he realized he could fulfill his purpose. Wiggling his hide, he jumped, almost tackling the other man. He hugged him tightly, a purr escaping his throat.
-
"Ooooookay--" Francis groaned, the weight of the neko throwing himself upon him almost toppling him over. After a few seconds of it obviously not letting go, Francis resolved to just carry him. He moved to tug the other's legs to be around his waist, holding his arms around his torso while he walked back to the front desk and picked up his debit card.
-
Alec clung to his new owner, a happy look on his face. His grip was like a sloth's, not hard but determined to cling on, his hands acting like burrs on a dog. He knew that he didn't weigh too much, so he didn't bother to release the other from the torturous grip. "Would you like me to speak or shut up?" He chirped.
-
Francis furrowed his eyebrows together, confused by the straight-forwardness of the question. "You can talk if you want, I don't mind. What's your name?" He walked out of the shop once he had his card, keeping his pace quick. It was already very late at night- around three in the morning- so no one normal was walking around anyway.
-
"My name? Hmm.." The neko had to think about it for a while. He never had a name, and the shop owner always called him 'cat' or 'furball'. He could come up with any name he wanted to! The neko wildly looked around until he saw a sign on a bench that said 'Vote for Alec Reed!'. Without much thought, he said, "My name should be Alec. Do you agree, or should I think of another?" He turned his gaze to his owner's eyes.
-
Francis raised an eyebrow. It was obviously randomly picked, but if that was what the hybrid wanted, then he wasn't going to argue. "Alright. Alec. Do you want to pick out a last name, too?"
