Finding a back door, Syriel pushed it open. The fools inside left it unlocked. Once inside, he saw two adults, seemingly drunk and high. 'Hm. Easy prey.' He thought. Coming up in front of them, Syriel leaned curse to the man and said, "Wanna play a little game?" He raised his knife and pushed it into the man's chest, twisting it slowly. He felt satisfaction in hearing the man scream on pain, followed by a gurgling sound as he choked on his own blood. He turned to the woman and gave her a just as agonizing death.

Scarlet became alarmed by the screaming that she heard from her parents. She slowly walked to her door and opened it. It started to creak and her stomach dropped. She walked into the hall anyways and when she came into the living room she saw her parents dead, with their killer standing near.

Syriel, hearing someone walk down the hallway, turned, seeing a girl who seemed to be a few years younger than him. He stayed silent, pulling up his hood and staring at the girl. His knife was splattered with blood, and thigh his bloodlust was satisfied, he would kill again if the need should arise.

She looked down at her parents bodies, and then up to the man, who was only a few years older than her, and a weird fluttering in her stomach arose. Her parents were dead. She didn't have to worry about them anymore. She didn't have to hurt. She could go to a new family that would be kind to her, and give her the love she needed. So she said softly, "thank you."

Syriel almost felt shocked, but realized that this girl had a hand shaped mark on her cheek. He stayed emotionless, and said, "What's your name?" He wanted to get to know this girl. To most, he was invisible, but this girl noticed him.

Scarlet was shocked that the boy asked for her name. Why would he ask her name? Why would he care? He was just a killer who just murdered her parents! Her voice shook a little when she stated, "Scarlet."

Syriel walked closer to Scarlet, picking up a lock of her hair and twirling it around his fingers. "Scarlet... like your hair. It suits you. I'm Syriel." He said. He heard police sirens in the distance. He looked out the window. "I'm afraid I must be going. I'll see you around, Scarlet." He said, jumping out the window and running off into the woods.

Scarlet watched Syriel go into the woods and she jumped when the police knocked her door down. They looked at her and surounded her. They asked her where the killer when but she looked down at the floor and said quietly, "i don't know." -

Syriel wandered through the woods, not paying much attention to the world around him, as her was deep in thought. Why did this girl, this Scarlet, intrigue him so much?

The cops asked Scarlet more questions after they brought her back to the police station. They asked her what the killer looked like. She said that she didn't know. She said she didn't know to all of their questions, and they finally gave up on the fact that she would know the answer to a question. Not too long later she was put in an orphanage, and she was back in school.

Syriel kept his distance, watching Scarlet go to the orphanage and proceeding to school afterwards. He wondered what her friends were like, of she had any. If he wanted to know more about her, what better way than watching her interact with people?

When Scarlet reached the property of the school instantly everyone stared at her. Of course they were going to do it, everyone knew that her family was dead, and she didn't have any friends to tell them to piss off for her. Instead she looked around, made sure there were no teachers and said, "don't you jerks have anything better to do? Piss off." Those were probably the first words she's said at school in a long time.

Syriel smiled at her outburst. She had done fire in her, amongst the clouds of shyness. He liked that. He was hoping she would act natural at school, and she was. He grinned in the shadows.
