Erik, being the deep he was, finally looked up after a dew seconds. "Oh, I'm sorry, what was that?"

He said thinking he heard her day something. -
She blinked in confused, then ignored it. "You never told me what you do."

He felt stupid, but shook it off. "Oh, uhh, I'm a news journalist at the newspaper company." He felt proud being able to say that.

"Oh, nice. Working on anything right now?" She continued to browse the menu, looking for something that she could possible order rare or medium rare, or something small.

"Nothing at the moment. My boss gave a week off for my cousin." He said looking back to the menu finally deciding on what he would order. "And I'm guessing it must be exciting being a detective?"

She nodded. "I've done a lot in my career." She decided, setting down the menu.

"Oh really? What other cases have you solved?" He said starting to get slightly serious.

"Eh, mostly murders and thefts... I grew up in a small town and had a knack for figuring things like this out, so I helped out around there and the rest of my area until I was seventeen, then I moved out and started doing it professionally. Other than that I've worked on a few cases outside of the country. I probably shouldn't talk about those ones, though." She shrugged.

He nodded, genuinely interested. "I see. Some pretty serious business, huh?"

He chuckled as the waiter came by to take their orders.
