I heard something whoosh past my ear but I didn't look. 'I have to make it,' I thought as I ran toward the Cove. They were right behind me. I knew that I shouldn't lead them to the Cove. They wouldn't be able to get in anyway, but if they brought back some kids, some NEEDY kids, the kids could get in and that would be bad news. Something whooshed by above me. Still, I ran without looking back. I was nearing the Cove now. It was time to make my desicion. Avoid the cove and risk capture (and possibly worse) or run into the safety of the Cove yet give away our hiding place, our home? Of course, there was still one more option . . . I ducked and veered left, running, falling, right off the edge of the cliff.
