Carnival made her way down an abandoned street, eyes narrowed. Her finger remained on the trigger of her gun, a constant reminder to anyone who decided to come at her that she was armed. Not that anyone was stupid enough to go at it with her. She had killed enough people by now that it was drilled into most of their heads. The only real threat she faced came from those who were desperate enough to ignore her weapons.
She stayed close to the wall of a building, breathing faintly lest someone hear. -
Auralee looked around the street, noticing the tiniest things. The speck of blood on that window. The dead mouse just outside the alleyway. The slight shadow going down another alley. She was curious, and began to approach, to check it out.
-
Carnival stopped, scanning the area around her. Feeling a faint chill in the air, she pulled her cloak tighter around her throat, hoping it didn't press too much against her chest.
"Anyone there?" she called out in a low, raspy voice. A fake one, meant to sound male. It worked relatively well on the less and less sophisticated thugs that tried to attack her. -
Auralee heard the raspy voice of someone that sounded as if they were trying to be male. She shook her head. "No, of course not," she called out towards the voice, still approaching.
-
Carnival felt herself bristling, turning toward the source of the voice. She pulled the hood over her eyes, and took the twin guns from their holsters. Backing slowly away from the voice, she aimed them carefully so she could shoot when they appeared.
-
Auralee pulled out her long sword, swinging it around lazily. She kept walking and finally spotted a darkly shrouded figure. And also the weapons the figure was holding. "Oh, c'mon. What are those for? Hunh?" she asked, leaning on her sword like a cane.
-
Carnival found herself incredibly irritated by the nonchalant manner of the girl there.
"They're for shooting jackasses. Are you a jackass?" she growled in the deepest voice she could manage. The strain hurt her throat, and she forced herself not to cough. She pulled both guns up, one aimed at the girl's head, the other at her heart. -
The girls heart beat slightly faster when the guns were aimed at her, but she didn't show it. "Well, I'd like to think I'm not, but of course, I always think higher of myself." She could tell that the figure was straining themselves to speak so deeply.
-
Carnival blinked at that. "Uh huh. What do you want?" she asked, starting, once again, to back toward the other end of the alley. The guns remained levelled at vital points on the girl. She needed to find more bullets.. If this somehow turned into a fight, she could very well end up with two empty guns- dead weight she would never dare to shed.
-
Auralee swung the sword over her shoulder. "Who ever said I wanted anything? I'm just a curious person." Her thoughts were starting to distract her again, and she muttered a few unintelligible things.
-
Carnival glared at the ground, all that she could see for the hood covering her eyes. She hated having her sight so impaired, but it was all too necessary.
"Well, if that's all, then you won't mind my leaving." she said, finally reaching the end of the alley. "I'd love to stay and potentially shoot you up, but I'm a bit tight on time." she said, avoiding mentioning her lack of ammunition. She turned the corner, and finally turned her back to the girl, running off in the opposite direction. -
Auralee and sighed, putting her sword away. "Well, only one thing to do," she said, then began to run after the person.
-
Carnival felt her eyes widen as she picked up the sound of footsteps chasing after her.
What the hell?
She picked up the pace, hoping to outrun the girl. She couldn't afford to waste any more bullets, espescially not against a swordsman. The fact that the girl was armed with more than a mere pocket knife or revolver was too alarming for Carnival to risk it. -
Auralee kept an even pace, continuing to run after the person. She wanted to know what was up with this person, what their problem was. A small giggle flowed out of her mouth, and echoing through the streets.
-
Carnival had always been quick to temper. Even long before this whole thing had started, there had been several bloody fights at school, on the streets- none of that blood being hers. She turned on her heel, facing the girl again.
"Damn it! what the f--- is wrong with you? Why won't you just leave me alone?" she hissed, the masculine voice never dropping. It had become an automatic thing for her. She raised the guns, firing off shot after shot toward the girl.
