  here are the status levels in order:
  newbie
  novice
  junior
  experienced
  advanced
  senior
  hot shot
  expert
  elite
  ultra elite
  
  here are ways to level up:
  making quizzes
  taking quizzes
  commenting on quizzes
  posting in forums
  getting a quiz on the front page (this helps the most)
  getting a quiz in the top 100
  and being on gtq for a long time can help you level up
