  I do have two questions.
  Why do some people use '*'?
  And what do you put when you want to talk to one person when there are like five others?

  Some people use those to do something. Here's an example. Say you want to virtually kill a bug. You just do this *Kills bug*. But you can put anything.
  
  Here's another example. Say there's someone else in this thread and I only want to talk to you. I just put this '@' and then your name. It looks like this.
  @Lindsey. See?
