"I see. It's just so fast. For such a big town, there aren't a lot of doctors."
"You okay, sweetie? I sure hope we won't have to work on you now." She carefully handed the tray to the younger. "Hm. How bout you come over and keep Mikhael company? You both seem so lonely." -
"I know, it's really weird, I admit." She chuckled. I got my job pretty quick as well. But it pays good so I'm just so happy for it."
The teen could overhear Hana, his curiosity spiking even more. He hoped he could meet the mysterious boy next door. -
"Mikhael? D-do you mean the boy next door?" He ask. "Well...I would like to m-m-meet him...b-b-but what if he doesn't like me? What if I break one of the rules, like I did when..." Clarendon stopped right there, not wanting to just blurt it out. "...but I really would like to meet him.."
-
"Good point. Thank you very much for showing me around. I suppose I should finish whatever this other man started. See you, Ella." He waved off the woman and stepped into his new office.
"Why of course you can meet him! And I'm sure you'll be just fine. You're a very good boy and I'm sure he'd like to meet you too. Here's the deal, every day, you two can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner together. If things go well, perhaps you can share a room. Okay?" She smiled warmly and led him from the room. -
"Right, bye then doctor!" She waved and then headed down the hall, back to her station at the front desk.
Mikhael blushed shyly, surprised that he'll actually get to make a friend here so quickly. He worried, hoping his streak of bad luck wouldn't affect anyone here at the hospital. -
He nodded in agreement, his eyes alight with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. It had been such a long time since he'd actually gotten a chance to talk to a new patient. Well, it wasn't that he didn't have the chance to, per say, he could just never really work up the courage to interact. He peeked into Mikhael's room, his heart hammering in his chest. "Hi..." He greeted in a soft, almost mousey tone of voice.

The woman lightly nudged him in as he pager went off. "Play nice you two. Mama's gotta go and prep for surgery. I'll be back later to check on you." She carefully slipped out, closing the door behind her. She removed the pager from her pocket. "So...I woman who recently had an abortion wants her ovaries removed. How bout we remove the uterus too..?" Hana smirked and took off for the operation room.
-
Mikhael looked as the other boy entered, shyly waving. "Hi...I'm Mikhael, nice to meet you." He looked at his hands, not very confident either. He felt a little nervous yet curious though. "So I'm new here, I guess I'm a little nervous right now." He chuckled softly and looked up to meet Clarendon's eyes.
-
"Trust me, I am, too." Dylan replied with a soft chuckle. "I d...d-don't talk to people often, after all. Oh, my name's Dylan, by the way. Dylan Clarendon." He gave Mikhael a gentle, shy smile, trying his hardest to seem fairly 'normal', whatever that word really meant. "It's...v-very nice to meet you...M-Mih-Mikhael..."
-
Ray noticed the dark-haired nurse walk calmly down the hallway towards the operating room. Speaking of which, he had noticed another man, a surgeon, just prior to the young woman. Being quick to save a life is one thing, bit that just seemed a little too fast.
-
Mikhael smiled softly back, still very shy but glad to know he wasn't the only one, and that the other boy seemed rather friendly. "Nice to meet you as well, Dylan..." After a quiet pause, he waved him to sit by him. "We eat, then?"
-
Dylan nodded and strolled towards him. He perched himself beside his new friend, placing his tray on his lap. "Of course." All of a sudden, he couldn't help but feel a little more secure around Mikhael, despite the fact that they'd only just met. After all, he seemed very nice.
-
The new doctor's curiosity got the better of him and he began to head for the operating room. But just as he got to the doors, he was pulled off to the side. "A--!" A hand slapped firmly over his mouth.
"Are you crazy!? Do you wanna end up like the guy before you?" A man, a custodian, exclaimed quietly. "If you know what's good for you, you'll stay away from the head surgeon and his nurse..."
He shoved the hand from his mouth. "What is going on here?"
"The ones who know are hush hush. The ones who don't, mind their business to not even ask. Just stay out of it." The man warned and rushed off. -
Ah, jeez. I'd better get to bed, you guys, or my folks'll have a bird. I'll catch you tomorrow, hopefully.
