"Darek! Come here!" My parents had called me for the third time. Ugh. Probably about the peace making with the filthym lifeless, bloodsuckers. I loathed each step I took that brought me closer to them. "What?" I answered bluntly. "You are to wed the vampire daughter of the vampires and seal the alliance between our pack and their coven in a month or so." My father spoke the words I dare not believe. "WHAT?!" I yelled with such force, I think the birds flew away.

I sat in my chambers, remembering a recent conversation with my parents. I was to marry a werewolf son. They wanted me to marry a dog. A dog. No way in hell was I going to do that.

In a pit of rage I stormed off into the nearby woods and started punching a tree. "I'd have to turn into a squirrel before I would even consider talking to 'it' without getting mad."
