Thread Topic: Hello.
-
Cobra grinned down at the girl, not missing the way she glanced at her hands, the obvious reaction to her claws.
"Because I'm not that stupid." she said, her eyes glinting hatefully. "I am not so naive." She raised her knife again, and backed toward the door. "Just get lost, kid. You're getting way too far in. You can't stop us." -
I didn't speak, just stared up at her. Was she a demon, too? That meant she should know where he was. He probably would favor another demon over a human.
-
Cobra didn't like the look on the girl's face. "What's your name, kid?" she asked, without interest. She had simply irritated herself always referring to her as "the girl" or "kid".
Her hand was on the door knob again. -
"Lauren," I lied.
-
Cobra nodded, bored.
"Can't say it was nice to meet you, Lauren." she said, pulling the door open and walking down the path. She checked the windows- all lights were on, but no sound was present. Everyone else was gone. -
I knelt on the ground for a moment. I should follow her...
-
Cobra continued down, hyper-aware of her surroundings. She couldn't let her guard down. Her fingers held tight to the knife as she turned onto the sidewalk.
A heavy hand fell on her shoulder, startling her. She jumped, and turned on her heel, slashing the knife randomly out. Her slashing paused suddenly, the blade an inch away from his face. He smiled, and her eyes narrowed. They stood there, motionless, for a moment, before she lowered the knife.
"Keep that up, and you'll be dead by morning." she growled, turning around again and sheathing the knife, and her claws. He chuckled behind her. "I thought I told you to run." she continued, becoming annoyed. -
Before I followed her, though, I investigated the house. If there was anything telling where their leader might be...
-
He said nothing, just followed her. She tried to ignore him, but his footsteps agitated her- she was always used to being alone. The second set of footsteps unnerved her.
"What are you still doing here?" she hissed. He shrugged. "What, have you gone mute?!" she snapped. He laughed.
"No, no, not mute. Though maybe I should go mute. You lose your temper so easily when I don't speak!" -
I looked in every room, finding nothing. I was starting to get a feeling this demon assassin dude didn't exist.
When I finished investigating, I called headquarters and reported everything that had happened. -
Not wanting to be tailed, Cobra pulled the clingy guy toward the street, and called a taxi. She hadn't been planning to do anything hgihyl unlegal to the driver, but the guy shot him the second they sat down, jumped over the seat, and pushed his corpse out the door.
"Buckle up, Miss Cobra." he instructed, and stepped on the gas. -
(Hgihyl, eh?)
The voice on the other end told me to follow the demon lady, and that they'd eventually send other hunters to help me. -
(Shut it. I meant highly.)
She wasn't sure exactly how far they had gone, but they had passed several city limit signs by now. She stiffened suddenly, realizing something.
"Hey, I never hired you!" she growled, drawing the blade again. She curled her hand quickly around his neck, pulling the blade up so she could slit his throat at any time.
He laughed again. "No, you hired my older brother. Alex. You remember him? Tall guy, good with a gun?" she nodded, and he laughed again. "Yeah, he brought me with him."
She couldn't help but to believe him. "And you are..?"
"Fallen." -
(Consider yourself lucky I can't find Ozze's typo thread.)
I left the house, looking down the street. Where'd they gone? Great. -
(Meany.)
Fallen drove until they hit a city miles away.
"Where the hell are we?" Cobra asked with suspicion, as he opened the door next to her and helped her out. He closed the door behind her, and it took a second for her to realize what had happened. She hit him, hard, on the head.
"Hey, wait! I don't need help getting out of the car!" she seethed, and he only laughed.
"We're in some city I've never heard of. This is some ratty hotel you an I will stay at tonight." he said. She glared at him, and he laughed again.
"Don't worry, you and I will have separate rooms." he said cheerily.
