He looked at the water. Part of him kind of missed life as a vampire slayer.

She looked at herself in the mirror, thinking of how much her appearance has changed in the past year.

Then again, if he had stayed a slayer, she would be dead. It was better this way.

She shook her head and splashed some cool water on her face.

He would've regretted killing her so much.

She wiped her face with a cloth. She was so different from the person she was a year ago.

He took another sip of the water (that wasn't in a river) and walked over to the window.

She sighed and walked out of the bathroom, glancing over at Seth by the window before heading over to their bed, lying down on it and staring up at the ceiling.

"Where do we want to go?" he asked quietly. He could feel the thirst for blood growing. It was the only downside to being a vampire.

She shrugged. "Anywhere, really."

He sat down on the bed. "I wonder if they're still searching for you or if they've given up."

"I dunno." She sighed. "Possibly. They probably think I'm dead, or I've betrayed them and gone to another clan."

"Do you think it'd be too much of a risk to go back?"

She bit her lip then nodded. "Probably...if they found out I was with you this whole time too, they'd torture then execute us both."

He sighed. "True..."
