"It's called A Separate Peace. Has anyone heard of it before?" Alex raised his hand slightly.

Nick kept his hand down. He heard of the book, but of course he hadn't actually gotten to read it. He looked at Alex, almost admiringly.

"Oh, Alex then, can you give us a summary of it?" "Um, it basically about two friends at a boarding school, one of them, Gene, accidentally knocks his friend, Finny, off a tree when they were jumping in the river. Finny gets hurt and Gene deals with guilt about it." "Good." She had a couple students pass out the books.

"Sounds like you read a lot of interesting books," h said softly.

"Heh, I used to spend a lot of time reading."

He smiled. "It shows."

He smiled back happily. The books finished being passed out and the teacher gave them independent reading time.

Nick opened the book and read, quickly becoming engrossed.

Alex read as well, his second time doing so for the book.

He continued reading, page after page. He was enjoying the book very well.

Alexx smiled to himself and read as well, remembering old parts he had forgotten.

The teacher finally stopped then and handed out a worksheet about chapter one for homework. -

"Aw jeez, homework," he muttered. -

"Yeah." Alex put the paper in his binder. "At least we have lunch now. Garden?" He grinned.
