I'm downloading Genshin Impact. I tried Wuthering Waves and couldn't get into it. I'm hoping Genshin will be better. I'm doing this out of pure boredom and hot men.

I played it for all of 30 minutes. I hated it. It started out the same way as Wuthering Waves with the stupid "traveler from another world" bit.

hey i thought about it some more, was just about to get to this rp when i remembered our setting. given a big part of skye's character is the fact that they use guns, i think it would only make sense to make our time period more modern. i would say sometime between like 1875-1950 would be perfect. is this ok with you?

okay cool. sorry for such a last minute change i just thought "hmm this probably doesn't make sense" haha
i thought 1900 even would be a good year to start in. this is around the time of the second industrial revolution, where electricity, steel & gas have very recently been discovered and become widespread. england itself is involved in several wars in this year including:
1. the boxer rebellion in north china
2. second boer war against south africa
3. the war of golden stool against the ashanti empire in modern day ghana
also, since is the turn of the century, the general attitude towards society is marked by "wanting change" & social and religious reform/freedom under a ruler who really values tradition. -
you don't gotta do a deep dive or anything but i think brushing up on those events could be helpful
