idk the way I see it it's like those shark plushies and trans people. Like yeah, it's kind of a symbol within the community, but other people are allowed to like it because it's objectively cool.
And carabiners are just objectively functional, it's not like I'm stealing it for style purposes only (although it's a perk), but I keep losing my damn wallet and headphones, so it's an easy way to keep track of them -
