Pre-show commentary
- there were two men holding hands and wearing fancy clothes that were giving me massive Jayden and Chester vibes
- there was a family that was entirely goth even the old parents. Addams family vibes
- there was a merch t-shirt for sale that said “MIZ ROCKS”. Safe to say I didn’t get the shirt but I did get the hoodie that just says “LES MISERABLES”
- I learnt that Les Miserables does not translate to The Miserable, it translates to The Wretched, which is so much worse oh my god Victor Hugo what is wrong with you -
- the set looks SO COOL OH MY GOD??? THE WOOD IS FLOATING???
- I’m gonna look for a copy of Les Miserables at the bookstore when all the school musical stuffs is over so I can read it I’m getting really into older books lately
- it sucks that everyone here is most likely from the city because there are so many cool people theres a girl with bright green hair and cool socks and I wanna be her friends so bad grr if only I had my hair dyed so the other hair dye folks would gravitate to me (in the clurb we all fam) -
Intermission commentary
- OH MY GOD ITS SO GOOD OMFG
- enjolras is hot, I want his suit, he reminds me of Chester
- I don’t like Javert but good lord his voice his beautiful
- the girl playing Eponine is so pretty even though her character pmo
- the little children are so good??? Oh my god I wish I had the opportunity to perform on BROADWAY at like 10
- I love the story and the plot and oh my god this may be my new obsession idk
- their voices are so beautiful oh my god especially cosette’s and fantine’s and jean’s and enjorlas’
- the people who play thenardier and madame thenardier are so funny omg they’re literally carrying this show they’re so good -
- remember Alexi the man playing Enjolras is James D Gish and I need a pic of his suit to ref for Chester (don’t ask why that’s important it’s suit is absolutely beautiful and so is his voice oh my god)
-
- the guy who plays Javert is so good I can’t get over it I want his coat too
- the plot is just so interesting and oh my god I need to read the book asap -
End of show commentary
- OH MY GOD
- ok now I remember why nobody hates Eponine thats actually really sad
- I love Eponine’s voice
- I still don’t like musical Javert he decided wayyyy too late that he was morally wrong
- It was so sad?? I forgot how sad it was oh my god they literally all just died for nothing. It’s true too, they weren’t real characters but the June Rebellion was against the newly established not sigma government that took reign after the French Revolution and it didn’t work so they all died in vain augh -
My phone was about to die so here’s a continuation
- the man who played Jean is literally Jesus his voice was so beautiful it was so lovely omg
- I didn’t have much love for Marius until he sang the “empty chairs and empty tables” song augh I love it
- I feel sorry for Eponine she’s the daughter of two asses and didn’t get a happy ending
- also not the thenardier saying he was bi-curious what
- thenardier and madame thenardier are actually such bad people I hate them like they’re funny and divas but oh my god I hate them -
It’s 12am. I am very very tired. Goodnight world
-
- At the end of the bowing all the cast members stood and like bowed some more and waved and the guy playing Enjolras stood next to the little girl playing young Cosette and he was making sure she was okay it was so cute
- the two little children playing young Cosette and Gavroche were SO GOOD?? Especially the little boy he was so eccentric and amazing on stage like I was not expecting that he was also so funny and at the end when they all stood together the two kids were giggling and hugging it was so cute argh
- I can’t get over the guy playing Jean Valjean he was so good and his voice was so lovely
- I forgot how sad Fantine’s story was, she did all she could to help keep her daughter alive including selling herself just for her to die of illness and have Cosette taken in by the Thenardiers omg
- my mother and my grandmother went to see Les Miserables like 5 times so me and my muma are continuing that tradition (my grandmother loved how hot Peter Cousens was while playing Marius I don’t see it) -
- the thing with Enjorlas and young Cosette is giving me so much Maeve and Chester vibes I don’t know why but omg
-
I’m so glad you had a fun time oh my god I’m so jealous
-
It was so awesome lol I’m obsessed with it now
-
As you should beeeee
If you ever have a chance to see Hadestown AT ALL, you should do it. The theater teachers I know call it the Les Mis of the Gen Z’s era, and it’s Greek mythology, and all the voices are SO PRETTY -
Ik that’s a side ramble but it’s another great broadway tragedy
-
Ah I’ve been meaning to take a look at that, I want to get into it so bad so I will definitely if it comes to Australia
