it does, actually. i go to every meeting
there's not a lot of people who support the community at my school though. there's a small group you can trust and be comfortable expressing your sexuality with, those people who don't judge you. but in my drawing class there was this group of homo/transphobes and one of them, the "leader" who was a senior and voted for trump and always spouted his conservative opinions, all the other ones loved and sorta followed suit. i never stood up to them or anything but instead just talked s--- to the people sitting beside me and to my friends in the gsa club. i felt kind of scared to be open and out about my identity in that class. and i saw another group of older guys looking at the gsa poster in the halls and they were making fun of it and saying all those "triggered" and "special snowflakes" jokes
because i live in a pretty conservative area, there's not a lot of liberal or open minded people at my school really. it sucks -
And there's something inherently wrong with them spouting their opinion, no matter how much you don't condone any ideas they say? Oh shut the f--- up. 😂
Either challenge them with rational ideas back and stop complaining.
Oh my god, someone made jokes! That makes me scared!
And people who are liberal aren't automatically "open-minded" you f---ing hypocrite
You pretty much are THE MOST BIASED person I have ever come across while saying you want "open-minded" people
By your definition of "open-minded people", you mean people that agree with you and will be apart of your little warm echo chamber of bulls---, living under a glass ceiling. -
like sometimes I don't like wearing skirts so that means I'm not 100% female
I must be a demi gurl !!!!!!!!!! -
wow drew your shoulders must be aching with all that reaching you're doing
-
ahhhhh
it sucks to know that are still people like that ://
my school is pretty opposite, people are pretty nice to each other in that respect
it must be difficult in a conservative area, especially being someone of a different sexuality and such
how are the teachers? -
i don't really know the teachers' opinions on the lgbt community and i don't want to know because i feel like some of them might be homophobic because again, conservative area. i also really like some of them so.. i don't want my opinion to change of them
but i did come out to a few of my classmates pretty loudly in history. the teacher most likely heard it because its a small room but she didn't seem to mind and doesn't treat me any differently -
If you didn't "stand up to them" or more of so challenged their opinion with logical thought which you LACK, you have no f---ing right to complain about these people. Everyone is under the right of freedom of speech. Whatever opinion or political stances you affiliate yourself with doesn't give you the longer ladder out of the bunch. Whether you're one of those hair-dyed lunatics on the alt-left or the nutjob alt-right conservatards, neither of them are better than the other because I'm pretty sure they are just as equally retarded. :'-)

ahhh i understand that
you know sometimes i dont get upset as long as they arent harassing people and such
like if they are peaceful i cant be angry because it isnt the goal to change every last person's view. people still have their freedoms.
but a better understanding is necessary, i think -
yeah, i can understand that. its the homophobes that are loud and violent about their views and the ones who protest with signs saying "god hates f--" and stuff like that. but if you're respectful about it i just ask for tolerance maybe. dont gotta be completely accepting, juist be tolerant and don't make disgusting comments.

yes! that would make things at least a degree safer for individuals
