Because one of the following things happened in a town close to mine
1: a girl was sexually abused on a bus and the teachers didn't find out until later
2: people did very sexual acts on a bus
3: probably some other possibility honestly
Either way, someone ruined the fun for just about everyone in the surrounding counties, so now they try to keep school trips to a minimum. The only time you travel is if you're in sports, and even then, the big stuff they sperate genders (because that's going to solve the problem :/) -

I'm pretty sure they're fine. No one noticed anything until they checked the camera's on the bus though, but there wasn't a big news story about it (as news travels fast in Wyoming jesuci christ) so I imagine they're doing okay.

then you legit go across the state for two days every weekend
but then you only get one day to sleep in, which kinda sucks -

and i wonder how dark does it, just being on the debate team and always moving around??? sounds hard
if i were to join any clubs it'd probably be an art or photography club, something like that -
For us, we go for about three months ish for the whole season, probably a bit more. We're gone from school every friday and we spend the night into saturday. We're constantly making up work and tests, and honestly, we do a lot of work. We go up against over twenty schools every meet, yet we get no recognition for it at all; we had state champions but no one cared; they weren't even allowed to receive a school award for it because it wasn't considered a "real sport."
Haha, f--- them though, Debate has taught me how to write an essay on a book I haven't read and get a 92 on it and pull a speech out of my ass and ace my final for it. Sports won't ever teach me that.
sorry for ranting, i hate my school and how they refuse to give my teach recognition. -
i completely understand you wanting to rant like damn that sounds like a lot of hard work. i don't know of i'd ever be able to make it on the debate team

It's totally worth it though. You gain skills that sports wont ever teach, you get to meet a bunch of cool people, and you don't even have to debate. There's an interpretation part to Debate, so instead of debating over politics and bills and s---, you can also do ten minute monologues and stuff. I've made more friends through Debate than I ever have in my entire life
and yeah, it sucks, but I look at the state champion banners hanging up in the gym and laugh because we have a s--- ton more than any sport because our sports suck ass x3
