Do you have sketching/shading pencils? They make shading easier than a regular pencil. The darkest is 8B.

Yeah, I had a whole bunch, but I dislike carrying around so many pencils. The soft lead turns everything it touches grey, and the pencils take up a lot of space. Ever since I sort of "gave up" on pursuing an art career, I've just been using notebook paper and mechanical pencils. orz
