My parents do the same, but only to run errands. You're twelve, so you should be old enough to be home alone.

My mom doesn't let any of us stay home alone---not even my 18-year-old brother (although if he were home alone he would probably set the house on fire). But all my other friends can stay home alone. Why can't I? My mom is a huge control freak.

Yeah. It sucks pretty bad. My sister actually wants to run away from home. But really, we do have it better than a lot of people.

Is it normal to have a mom that only cares about her children as slaves who do all the house work, who isolates all her children from each other, who removes all freedom from them, who puts f---ing security cameras in their bedrooms, who makes them buy their own clothes, who refuses to help them find a future when they are grown up, who constantly compares her children to other children, who tells everyone she knows about how her children act, who yells at them every time they object to something she does, who tells her children that she wishes she hadn't adopted them, but then acts like an angel to everyone outside the house? Is that normal?
