Okay you guys I came in 3rd in the Geography bee this year, and only because I became confused, if not I probably would've made it to 2nd or even 1st. Neither Canada nor Australia are States within the United States of America. And no, England was not Annexed from the U.S., we broke away from being a colony of theirs. Canada and Australia, Along with some African countries including South Africa were one also part of the British "empire"

and the definition of continent is a large landmass that can be distinguished from others easily, separated by mountains or water, and have different ecosystems and cultures. Also, continents can be just huge islands, too large to be called islands, though. They also usually have their own tectonic plates associated with them, with the exception of the Indo-Australian plate that combines the continent of Australia and the sub-continent of India. -
