well i dont really know, maybe because most other people like light better than darkness, some think that what lies in darkness is the devil and his people or something like that

I don't think that darkness is the devil. Maybe people prefer having it be dark instead of light. For example the 666 thing. They just applied 6's to the devil's name to act like that is the devil's symbol.
