You do it with plants, but that is much simpler than with animals.

I don't think cross breeding is physically and genetically is possible.
It would totally affect the laws of nature.
But, horses and donkeys mate, which produces mules.
And I negated my point. -
DNA mixing with mammals and such is so... I don't know. The outcomes could turn out anyway.
