If that one person found out that I died, they would be heartbroken.
If that person knew I was gone, they'd be ripoed apart.
The gender wasn't specified, therefore you refer back to the person with they

It's exactly like the rule with anyone, anybody, somebody.
If anyone attempted to read that, they'd be crazy.
If somebody tried that, they'd have to be brave.
If anybody went out there alone, they'd have to be courageous.
Anyone, somebody, and anybody are singular, and they only words because a gender or specific person wasn't being referred to or mentioned. -
I am smart, but I only use improper grammar when I am lazy...

my god typos -
I try to use correct grammar on here unless I'm in a huge hurry to say something but in real life I almost always use correct grammar unless I'm making a joke seeing how bad of grammar I can come up with. "Well seems ta me it's never not more better."
