today I got sassed up at work by an elderly woman

she and her husband came in and ordered some stuff and she asked for a thing that came with one side and I made sure to tell her that the thing had one side so she asked for mashed potatoes and green beans and her husband told her it only came with one side and he ordered something and got mashed potatoes as his one side and then the lady said something about mashed potatoes again and I started to get really confused because she'd already heard twice that it only came with one side so I asked if she wanted to get the mashed potatoes individually and her husband said just the green beans for her and then they moved on and paid and got their food and sat down
and then two seconds later this f--- was up at my counter again because her husband didn't get his motherf---ing mashed potatoes and I looked over there and sure as sugar that motherf---er had his mashed potatoes and I was like "it looks like they're there" and she brought me her receipt and she's like "no I got my green beans and my mashed potatoes but he didn't get his" and it took me four seconds of mental exercises to get through the trauma of the stupidity that was unfolding in front of me before I could speak and this woman was so convinced she was right so I just gave her an extra thing of mashed potatoes and she was like "that didn't look right, doesn't it come with two sides, what did I get?" and I told her what she got and she said "and that comes with.." and I said "one side" and she got really condescending and took her free mashed pof---ingtatoes and started telling her husband how incompetent I was halfway back to her seat audibly enough for the whole lobby to hear and that's the story of how I almost cut an old lady's throat today -
