I thought Five Nights at Freddy's 2 was going to be a sequel. But after looking at some pictures from the game I found out the paycheck on the 5 night, the date is 11-12-1987. That would make it a prequel. But if it is, how are the animatronics from the first game in it?

I'm not sure about the paycheck, but I'm sure that the animatronics existed before 1987, right? It was just the bite of '87 that made them "known", and that's when they became killing machines, I believe.
