So the story is about this kid that doesn't understand his religion. He gets frustrated, and starts hating on it for no reason. He upsets his parents because of it.
The bench is the spot where he's always gone to hang out with his father and neighbors. It's the spot where he had always grown up on. But he never prayed there nor showed his respect for his god, Allah. So the bench is fading because it's being renewed. -
