I usually revolve my characters around the things more than having things revolving around my characters if you get me.
Should I make a character in the Specialist faction or the Researcher faction? -

And as for the "relationships", does it have to be a competitor/other NPC or can it be made up people that had been family that might have died? -
Both family and if you do have a relationship with an NPC or competitor, you can add that there too

How do you join the group to enter the application?
How do you submit the application for approval?
Do you have to put the application in the folder, or do the mods/other put it in for you?
HOW DO -
To join,
Click join group
in the box, paste the link to your app there
when you're in you go to the NPC folder and submit the app there -
By "box" do you mean a thing that'll appear once you click "join group"?
