Almost went into sleep paralysis. Luckily, I woke myself up just seconds before it happened, when I was in the REM stage. It seriously felt like my eyes were having a seizure, and now my head hurts. In other news: I'm wide awake now.
-
YOU GUYS, IM STILL SHAKING.
-
_Leah_ NewbieOMG ARE YOU GOING TO BE OKAY?
-
YEAH. IT'LL PASS LIKE IT ALWAYS DOES. IM JUST GLAD I DIDNT GET TO THE "OH MY DUCKING GOD I CAN'T BREATHE OR MOVE" STAGE.
-
_Leah_ Newbie...Wow. I hate that you have to go through something like this.
-
You don't know what it is, do you? XD.
-
_Leah_ NewbieWell, I'm guessing it's something where you get paralized in your sleep. XD Am I close?
-
Haha yeah :P. it doesn't happen every night for me though. I've had it since I was six, and it most commonly happens when you lay on your back. And it's like you're sleeping, but you don't know that you're sleeping, and then you realize that you can't move, so you start to panic, and then you realize that you can't breathe either, so you open up your eyes and it looks like you're in your room. You try to call out for help, but only a whisper or no sound at all comes out of your mouth. And then sometimes, you came sense that something or someone is watching you, and since you think it's real, you want to start crying and screaming, but you can't move and you don't have your voice. It's a vicious cycle.
-
_Leah_ NewbieOh god. That sounds terrible.
-
Yeah. One time during it, hands wrapped around my ankle and pulled me off my bed, and then I started to panic and I heard someone laughing near my ear. That was probably the worst and longest one that I had. They usually last only a minute of less.
-
_Leah_ NewbieOh wow.
I know it's not really anything like what you have, but my 27 year old brother has had epilepsy since he was seven. He just kinda zones out, and starts twitching really hard. It's been a while, though. It's been really hard on my mom. One day I was going through old computer documents, and I found one titled "Epilepsy". My mom had written it, and she was all "I'll never forget the day he had his first seizure. I can even remember what shirt he was wearing. My little boy, the one that I loved and cared for so much, was just gone for a few minutes." Or something like that. I remember one time, when I was about eight, he was walking down the hall and suddenly fell against the wall, knocking down a picture frame, and fell onto the floor. His ears turned red like he was crying. I screamed "MOM!" at the op of my lungs, and both of my parents cmae out of their rooms. I was really scary. But it's been a while since he's had a seizure, luckily. -
I still can't really move my left foot.
-
_Leah_ NewbieThat's really bad. Maybe you should go to the hospital?
-
That's good that he doesn't have any more seizures. I know a girl at my school that has epilepsy. She had one in the middle of class last year.
-
No, it's okay. Everyone is paralyzed when they fall asleep, it's a chemical that your brain sends out so you won't act out your dreams. I just woke myself up in the middle of it, so it takes a while for my body to get over it. I can move it down though. But I'm still kinda jumpy.
