It's about a Vietnamese-American 12 year old girl named Ensia Vu who "temporarily" moves into an old trailer in a crag neighborhood full of monsters. She lives close to a magic forest where all sorts of creatures live. Jasper, a formerly magic cat comes in and explains that he lived in the trailer first. Ensia protests, saying that her parents will see him and that if he wants to live here then he needs to be kept a secret. Jasper finds potential in Ensia and gives her the Heart's Blood, the essential main key to be the prophet leader of his pride. Ensia accepts, and learns to become a cat with the help of her new best friend. But trouble lies ahead, because of magic, it gets her expelled from school, and Jasper keeps teaching her about magic while Ensia's doubts get bigger. Now as the Pride-Heart, or leader, of the cat magic pride, Ensia Vu needs to save her pride from danger and find her recently missing sister Helena and bring her back home all while not getting caught by her parents.
