Ugh....
-
whyy you're lucky
-
No I'm missing a ton of schoolwork and we started a new unit in math on tuesday and I didn't understand any of it and we've been reviewing it for the last 2 days so everyone is pro at it by now and I'm f---ed.
-
oh yeah.. that sucks
-
Yep.
-
why not do all the work on the weekend? you'd have to give up your free time though...
-
Well now I'm doing tuesday nights homework and I need to do the stuff that I can actually print/get off the blog, or else my teachers are like OH THAT WAS ON THE BLOG YOU SHOULD OF DONE IT. The only stuff I'm doing on the weekend are the things that weren't on the blog, and friday nights homework.
-
What's the new math unit?
-
Um, we just finished rational exponents and now we're onto exponential growth and decay.
-
Simply use amount x interest(to the power of amounts of payments)
-
Decay would simply be an interest smaller than 1.
-
What.
-
The easiest way to explain exponential growth is with banks. You invest x dollars, at y interest, and interest is paid z times over a certain timespan.
So say, x is $100 y is 10% and interest is paid 12 times a year.
So after 1 payment x=110 because the interest is 10%, meaning it is 1.10 what you had before.
After second payment it become 1.21,
After 12 you have $313.842837. -
I'll try to understand that post later....
-
Here's how I think of it:
X is $100. That means you're starting out with 100.
Y is 10%. That means you're adding 10% of your starting number each time. 10% of 100 is 10, so add 10 to 100.
You now have 110.
The reason the second payment is $121 is because you have a new starting number- 110. 10% of 110 is 11, so you add 11 to 110.
You now have 121.
Continue this procedure until you've done it 12 times, or alternatively use this equation.
