I was doing a science project, where you bring a candle and light it, then sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on it, and it goes out, the smoke stays a bit longer than if you put it out with water, and it smells weird.
The teacher wants us to look up why it does that.
BUT I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING!!!!!!
Any of you people who think they're smartasses can help me???!!!

Okay, it's because it gets rid of the oxygen so the flame has one of the three fire elements removed (fire elements are: fuel, oxygen and heat).
