i went on the aph mexico tag on tumblr
then i saw it.
a female mexico oc with almost white skin and blue eyes.
the maker of that oc then felt like it would be okay if s/he then put black hair whICH IT IS NOT.
scREAMING
MEXICANS ARE NOT PALE NOR ARE THEY BLUE-EYED. I AM ONE OF THE FEW EXCEPTIONS TO THE PALE THING BC I AM NOT FROM AZTEC DECENT, I'M FROM SPANIARD DECENT.
THE ONLY TIME THIS CAN BE IS WHEN YOU GO TO MEXICO CITY AND YOU SEE THE GERMAN-MEXICAN PEOPLE. WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE TO BE OF SOME EUROPEAN DECENT.
ALSO IT IS NOT A GOOD EXCUSE TO USE "WELL COUNTRIES IN HETALIA ARE USUALLY WHITEWASHED" BECAUSE JUST SINCE THEY THINK COUNTRIES WITH PALE SKIN ARE "KAWAII DESU NE" DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE THE EXCUSE TO DEGRADE THE PEOPLE OF A COUNTRY LIKE THAT.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ENRAGING FOR ME EVEN IF I'M NOT A "TRUE MEXICAN".
IF YOU CAN'T EVEN MAKE THE SKIN AND EYE COLOURS CORRECT THEN I AM SORRY, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE MY PERMISSION TO MAKE AN OC. THE SKIN AND EYE COLOR IS THE MAIN THING. I MEAN YOU DON'T SEE f---ING JAPAN WITH DARK SKIN DO YOU? NO, BECAUSE THAT DOESN'T f---ING HAPPEN IN JAPAN.
PALE PEOPLE DON'T HAPPEN IN MEXICO IF YOU'RE OF AZTEC DECENT. PERIOD.

I hate white washing characters. :I I've seen so many beautiful examples of non-pale anime characters, I don't understand why people don't do at least some research and effort in the OCs that they make.
I'm sorry that your country isn't being represented correctly. That's why I like your OCs so much, they really are well thought-out and authentic. :3 -
Right.. :/ It's actually pretty offensive when people do that.. I wish they would just take the time to put some research into it. You don't need to do the months that I did for it. Just basic information of people and history and you're good. >_> Or at least have the palette correct..
Idk, like I think Seychelles is a good example of this. I think she's much more prettier now that she is at least somewhat accurate in skin colour.
It's alright, just have to ignore the idjits. :I But thank you. That means a lot to me. -
