Yay I quite enjoy seeing unhappy animal trapped in cages for our sick entertainment. I mean animals... yay!

What I really hate is that people shamelessly throw trash into the enclosures.

I really hate people who think the animals shouldn't be in zoos. For most animals in zoos today, that's all they've known. To release them into the wild now would be terribly cruel, because the creatures wouldn't know how to survive.

Those are both great points, but Just think about this: imagine your confined to only your house and maybe backyard (if you have one) and everyday people come and both you, staring at you, taking pictures, and sometimes leaving trash there or trying to feed you as if you couldn't do it yourself. How would you feel?

If that was the case, and I happened to be like most animals in zoos, that would be all I ever knew. It would be the norm for me. I wouldn't know that there was a world beyond my confinements, or that this wasn't natural for someone of my species. Call it sad, but I wouldn't know what I was missing. I couldn't really miss it if I'd never had it, or long for it if I didn't know it existed.

Yes, that is true, but they still get slightly annoyed with people bothering them so much. I understand learning about exotic animals, and I'm not against zoos, just trying to think about it from different points of views.
